Having Eugenie visit me in home after having my son truly gave me the support and reassurance I needed as a first time mom. To have someone with her expertise to coach me on breastfeeding and teach me simple practical tips for issues like naps and even bathing helped me learn to be confident caring for my son. On a more personal level, the way Eugenie connected with me as a mom made me feel like I wasn't alone while I navigated through those first precious days. I am so grateful to have had her guidance and would recommended any first time mom to have Eugenie help with in home post natal visits especially if you plan on breastfeeding.
We engaged Eugenie as our midwife to accompany our birth. I went into labour at 2 am and she was over at my place in 20 minutes and stayed with us through to 10 am the next day. Apart from being the consummate professional she was, her gentle, calm and positive disposition provided a lot of comfort to my husband and I at home and in hospital. She was also able to work seamlessly with the midwives and doctor at Matilda. Birth was an intense experience but with Eugenie's help I was able to go through it the way that I had wanted and planned, which is fully natural. We will engage Eugenie again if we have our next baby.

As a first time Mum Eugénie gave me vital support during my journey from ‘Mother-to-be’ to Mummy with baby! Whilst pregnant she gave me practical information on how to care for my baby when she was born and carried out some check-ups. I appreciated how she was able to feel over the top of my skin and explain to me the position of my baby, helping me to visualise the little baby growing inside me. She also gave me emotional support and reassurance whilst patiently answering my many questions.
Prior to going into labour she was in contact with me assuring me that she would be there when I needed her. I was keen to be at home for as long as possible before going into hospital to give birth. On the day that I went into labour she happened to be doing a home visit check-up as I was a couple of days overdue. She called round in the morning and so was able to confirm to me that the slight twinges that I was feeling were indeed the beginnings of going into labour. As I was only a couple of centimetres dilated and nothing was going to happen for a while she told me to let her know when the contractions got a bit stronger. She continued to message me during the day to check my progress. I then contacted her again that evening as the contractions became more intense and she promptly returned to me. She then remained with me providing guidance by checking my progress and also giving me much appreciated back massages. I had absolute trust in Eugénie’s abilities as a midwife. As a result, I felt calm and was very grateful that I was at home for this part of my labour. When I was around 5-6cm dilated she then informed me it was time to go to the hospital. She then accompanied my husband and I to the hospital and waited with us until my initial monitoring had taken place and I was taken to the pre-delivery ward. My husband and I both appreciated how she informed us about what to expect whilst in a Hong Kong public hospital.
Once my daughter and I returned home Eugénie called round to meet her and continued to keep in contact via Whatsapp. Eugénie is a dedicated, knowledgeable midwife who genuinely cares about the mother and the baby. She provided a professional and personalised service and I could not have asked for anything more.
Tired, confused, feeling a little vulnerable and in healing mode - all the above is not just a facebook status but what happens to us right after giving birth. The best thing about home visits is as stated, they are in the comfort of your very own home. For one, that's great as I was lying in my bed in my pjs and the midwife made herself at home - not just figuratively. With a new born baby athand, there are a million and one questions and feelings going through my head. Eugenie was warm and super friendly. She is also very young which might make one think that that could mean less experience, but she made sure she covered everything thoroughly-patiently and lovingly. From bathing, to body weight, to jaundice, to wounds that are healing, umbilical cord and everything else.
I didn't think I would really need home visits when I initially signed up for them. To be honest, I was saving so much money giving birth at the Queen Mary that I thought, why not get myself some home visits. I also have my mother living very close by. Little did I know it's so easy to forget, she didn't remember many things. You just don't realise actually how much guidance and comfort one needs after delivery. I had terrible pains from the growing mastitis as I was basically breastfeeding incorrectly and very uncomfortably. Eugenie made it all ok. She was very professional and best of all, it was like having a friend over every time.

Being a first time mother in HK, having Eugenie’s advice and experience before and after the delivery was an invaluable support for me and my husband, especially after we went back home with our (pre-term) baby.
All along the process, Eugenie has been 100% available and responsive over whatsap/phone calls.
She is very familiar with private and public systems in Hong Kong and provided a very useful preparation for the delivery in QMH. Right after the birth, she has been very professional and watchful (checking on us daily) but yet not unnecessarily alarmist.
She was very kind, patient, answering all of our questions and gave us all the advices we needed day after day, which was truly helpful and reassuring.
I also appreciated that she was very open-minded, respectful and neutral regarding my personal decision toward pain relief and breastfeeding.
Finally, as a French, it was quite helpful to have Eugenie’s tips as to what bring back from France for the baby care or explanation as of why some of the things are done differently here in Hong Kong.

My midwifery care from Eugenie (9 mois etc) was superb! I learned I was pregnant with my first child shortly after relocating to Hong Kong. Finding myself in a new place and slightly overwhelmed, the support and guidance Eugenie provided played a key role in a remarkable pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. Her gentle, yet reassuring approach, helped me stay calm during labor, and she was my saving grace when I quickly progressed after only a few hours of contractions. She was also very helpful in making my husband feel included during the birthing process. I am grateful to have had Eugenie by my side along the way and during the birth of our first daughter

We had a wonderful labour experience, largely thanks to Eugenie. After I realised I was in labour, I contacted Eugenie who was in regular phone/message contact until my contractions became regular, about 30 minutes apart. Eugenie then came to our flat at midnight and, as soon as she arrived, I knew I was in safe hands. She stayed calm and, as a result, I stayed calm. We managed to get through most of the labour in the comfort of my own home. By the time I was 6 cm dilated, we went to Queen Mary Hospital together.
It was a shock when I got there - having been so relaxed at home with Eugenie, things suddenly became more "clinical" at the hospital. Eugenie wasn't allowed to come into the delivery suite with me, but thankfully, my wonderful little boy was born just 3 hours later, with no drugs/medical intervention.
My husband and I are truly grateful for Eugenie, who helped me stay calm and relaxed during the whole labour process.
We would highly recommend Eugenie's labour care services."
Having my 1st baby in Hong Kong far from home and family, Eugenie was, for Loukas and me, our life saver. I will always be grateful that I got such great advice and care from her.
After coming back from the hospital and trying to breastfeed my baby, I was informed by the nurses there, that I should provide him with a bottle because of his weight of loss (less than 10 percent at the time but still a bit alarming when you really don't know what you are doing).
A bit depressed by this news, I texted Eugenie to get some guidance as we schedule our 1st postnatal visit 3 days after. Not only she called me right away, she decided to come the very same afternoon to check after my baby and myself at home.
She reassured me and provide me with a full set of tips and pointers from napping, bathing, positions to breastfeed, how to deal with baby blues etc... which help on surviving this 1st week and even more as I still breastfeed my baby now after almost 15 months.
Her support, warmth, good mood and humor were really appreciated and encouraging during this overwhelming time. As a first time mom you don't really know what to expect once your baby is here and her presence was really precious to me.
I definitely recommend her services, she was a wonderful midwife for both of us and it was a pleasure to see her again for the pelvic re-education, a lot of good laughs during the session where I could also bring Loukas with me when I did not have a nanny.
We've been living in Hongkong for a couple of years and that's where we had our first baby. Giving birth is an adventure, but in a foreign country, with a different culture, language and conception of medicine, it can really be a kind of civilisation shock! Especially if you decide to go to the public hospital in Hong Kong, which are very efficient, but also very impersonal.
10 months ago, Eugénie helped me to bring our baby boy to this world. From the very beginning, just after I learned that I was pregnant, until the last moment at the hospital, when she had to leave me in the hands of the staff there, and even after the birth of our son, she accompanied us, explained the local medical system and how to navigate it, did the prenatal and postnatal care, helped me feed the baby and guided us during the first days of his life.
Eugénie was my "comfort zone" during this adventure, bringing a French touch in a foreign and medical world.
